Our outreach location is...

LANCASTER!

Because of COVID and unforeseen circumstances, our first overseas outreach locations are not possible. Cambodia and Thailand are still closed. We had told some of you about the possibility of going to Mexico to a kid’s home, but that opportunity closed as well. There is a potential for us to go there with our family as an outreach in June for our School of Ministry Development (SOMD) outreach.

So I grieved and cried a lot through this process of letting go the "ideal" DTS outreach for our family. The Holy Spirit has brought me to the place where God has transformed my heart and I am SO EXCITED for how God is going to use us and our family in Lancaster for the next two months!

Our team consists of four couples and nine children!

Our main focus will be on teens and children and families!

Imagine this...

:: Four couples and 9 kids running together in community, intentionally bringing the Kingdom of Heaven into our region

:: 50 hours a week pouring into our own community and surrounding areas for eight weeks

:: Strategic partnerships with ministries who have already plowed and started the work and getting to serve them and their established mission

:: Outreaches into Lancaster city, Green Dragon, Walmart & Target, and grocery stores, praying for people in our own community and getting to introduce them to Jesus and then plugging them into local churches and ongoing discipleship!

:: The opportunity to invest in ongoing relationships and discipleship instead of going somewhere for two months and then leaving and never seeing them again.

:: Partnering with ministries like Immerge who work with refugees in Lancaster city and adopting a refugee family and having regular visits building ongoing relationships and discipleship continuing well past the two month outreach time.

:: Running a week long mini-DTS for local high school students

:: Beginning each day exalting the name of Jesus and interceding for our region, fighting the spiritual battle in worship and prayer, and then going out and simply partnering with what the Holy Spirit has already begun to do in people’s hearts!

:: and so much more that is on the horizon!

I used to pray, “God, send me anywhere, anywhere but Lancaster.”

God has CHANGED my heart and awakened me to the immense need in our own region and the strategic timing with which he has placed us here for outreach for such a time as this!

We have such a beautiful heritage here in Lancaster county and spiritual roots of faithfulness that have been cultivated throughout the generations! ️

The harvest is so ripe here in Lancaster and we are so expectant for how God is going to move in powerful ways in touching people and transforming lives HERE in our own region!

Outreach phase of DTS officially begins January 4! I will be posting real-time testimonies and updates on my Facebook and Instagram stories and pages, so you can follow along!

There are two other teams of students being sent out from our DTS. One team is going to Kenya and the other team is going to Mexico for the two months of outreach. As we prayed and sought the Lord on where we would have us go for our outreach, we felt strongly that we were supposed to be apart of the family team, so that our girls will be able to be involved in outreach with us. If we would go to one of the other outreach locations, only one of us would really be able to participate as the other parent would have to stay back at the base and watch the kids for the majority of the time. We felt God leading us to lay down our own desires in this season, and focus on bringing our children into outreach with us as much as we are able!
