To God be the Glory!

We have completed our first year at the Hub Learning Center (HLC)!!!

It has been such an honor to teach and pour into my ten kiddos in my Kindergarten and First Grade class and the 28 students in HLC!

To God be the GLORY for all he has done in this school year!

As Miss Wilna and I were tearing down our classroom, I experienced a unique tension of emotions grieving the end of the year while celebrating all that God did in class!

We took time to share testimonies and funny moments and special times throughout the year and I was met with sense that we were standing on “holy ground” on the rug where my students heard their heavenly father’s voice for the first time, on the rug where God told Ellie she would be a missionary in Afghanistan, on the rug where the students prayed out loud and prophesied over each other, on the rug where we experienced the healing power of God throughout the year of ear infections and hurt tummies and headaches and booboos. That rug is a reminder to me of the faithfulness of God, of the goodness of God, and the power of God.

Throughout the last few weeks of school, we focused on learning about various nations and God’s heart for the nations! We had special guests come in and teach us about South Korea, Cambodia, Haiti, Pakistan, and China! We spent time as a class interceding for each nation and asking for God’s heart for the people!

TEACHING AT AN AMISH SCHOOL

One of my highlights of this month was the opportunity to teach about Cambodia at a one-room Amish school!

One of my friends through the Encounter Youth is the teacher at the school, and she invited me to come and share!

I taught a little about Cambodia and the culture and then I shared stories and testimonies and it was so amazing how the students’ eyes changed as I was telling them the testimonies of God healing the paralytic man and fevers and broken legs and God healing the man that was mute and his first word he spoke was Jesus in Khmer!

It was a dream come true to teach and share the Gospel of Jesus in a one-room school house and it was such an honor to partner with God’s heart for the nations!

THE SEND

THE SEND was so worth the 18 hr bus trip to Kansas City!

Thousands gathered in Arrowhead stadium, not for an event, but to come together as a unified body of Christ to lift the name of Jesus high and pray over our nation and generation!

Over 12 hrs, there were many powerful moments of intercession and high praise and out of that place of first love for Jesus, came calls of action for high schools, universities, our communities, adoption, the nations, and prayer and fasting!

At one point we prayed over each other for healing and hundreds were healed by the power of Christ! I put my hand over my eyes for healing because my contacts were irritating me really bad after being outside all day in the sun. A young girl and her mom ran over to me and told me how just a few moments before the girl had pain in her eyes and told her, “Mom, my eyes hurt.” The mom said, “I don’t think that is your pain, I think God is giving you a word of knowledge in your body that he wants to heal someone’s eyes.” Then they looked over and saw me holding my eyes!

The girl prayed for me and big alligator tears began to form across my eyes (not at my tear ducts) and my eyes were instantly moisturized and all the irritation left! Glory be to God!

Then we went to share the testimony with her friend and her friend was holding her eyes and almost crying because her eyes were so irritated and painful! The girl prayed for her friend and all the pain left! Thank you Jesus for the simple childlike faith in that girl and for bringing healing!

YWAM THIS SUMMER

Now that school is over for the summer, Josiah is working in Operations and the worship department at YWAM 4 days a week and I am at YWAM 2 days praying into and vision planning for our next school year and various other tasks.

We are excited for what God is doing in Lancaster and our region in this season and for all the fruit we are beginning to see in this great harvest that is stirring!

May God have each of our yes’ to share our testimonies, preach the Gospel, disciple, encourage, care for, and love others radically as the Holy Spirit leads!

Jumping into Spring

Oh the JOY of warmer weather! The kids and I are praying it is here to stay! It is amazing how much more motivation and energy I have on these warmer days!

Thank you Jesus for the promise of Spring!

We had a tough Winter as I (Kayla) was sick 5 times in six weeks and I missed a week of teaching school.

I am so thankful to be healthy again and I am grateful for good friends who helped me build up my immune system again.

HUB LEARNING CENTER

We are in our seventh month at HLC and it is amazing to see how each of our students has grown in their identity, in hearing God's voice, and in confidence in praying for each other!

I count it a great privilege and joy to teach and disciple each of my ten students at the Hub Learning Center!

We have celebrated many themed days to help us bring fun into the harder winter months! January and February are generally the hardest months for students (and teachers) because of the lack of vitamin D and having to be stuck mostly inside, so we enjoyed dressing crazy and doing lots of hands on activities.

We celebrated fairytale day, superhero day, book and pj day, Valentine's Day,100 days of school, math day, and American flag day!

It was so fun to partner with the Holy Spirit in creative ways to preach the Gospel in each of the theme days and grow our faith and identity in Jesus!

TESTIMONY

One cold Tuesday morning in February, we were at morning worship at the YWAM base and we were corporately praying for the lost. I was praying for someone I loved and I was crying because I could feel the Father's heart for them calling them home to him.

One of my students saw me crying and she came and climbed on my lap. I explained to her that I was crying because I was feeling the Father's heart for my friend and that Daddy God wanted my friend to say "yes" to him and heal their heart.

I felt this nudge in my spirit to ask my student if she had ever said "yes" to Jesus and give her life to him.

She said, "No, Miss Kayla, I've never said yes to Jesus."

I said, "Do you want to say Yes to Jesus and give your life to him?"

She said, "Yes, Miss Kayla, I want to say Yes to Jesus and give my life to him!"

I shared the Gospel with her again and the Holy Spirit so beautifully gave us a picture of Jesus rescuing her out of darkness and bringing her to a place of safety and light!

Then I got to lead my precious student to JESUS!! We prayed with her for the baptism of the Holy Spirit and she felt tingling in her hands and lots of JOY!

HALLELUJIAH!! GLORY TO GOD!

Jesus is teaching me so much about discipleship and the beauty of now getting two more months with her to continue to disciple her and teach her more and more about her Daddy God!

MORE THAN EDUCATION HOMESCHOOL CONFERENCE

YWAM LANCASTER hosted a “More than Education” homeschool conference and

wow…The Lord did so much in our hearts as mommas!

Over 100 mommas from our region and

some from outside of our region gathered together and our amazing Father God gave us fresh vision as mommas, fresh fire to disciple our children, and encouragement that HE has equipped us in this journey!

Jesus also spoke to one of the speaker’s sons and gave him a word of knowledge about a momma who had pain in her shoulder and that God wanted to heal her!

Guess what!?

There was a momma who had that pain in the exact place the son described and JESUS HEALED HER last night!! God desires to minister to people through our children! They hear from God and there is no junior Holy Spirit!

Jesus also spoke through other words of knowledge and brought deep heart healing to many mommas!

ALL GLORY BE TO GOD!!

YWAM LANCASTER

Our outreach teams are back! We had three teams in Albania, Nepal, and USA for the past two months and it was amazing to reconnect with the teams and hear all the testimonies that God did in each country!

GOD IS AT WORK IN OUR WORLD!

The Gospel is going forth and being are hungry!

Our Discipleship Training School, Discipleship Bible School, and WISE schools all graduated last Thursday evening! I was so blessed to be able to really connect with a few of the students in the schools and see them grow in so many ways in the past 6 months!

FAMILY LIFE

We celebrated two special birthdays in February! Eve turned 2 on February 13!

Selah turned 5 on February 26!

We love our precious girls and are so grateful for their lives!

New Year, Same Wonder Working God!

HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone! My prayer for you is that this year of 2022 has begun with a focus on Jesus and the Kingdom of Heaven and the things that really matter in this life! With all the voices vying for our attention, my prayer is that HIS VOICE will be the loudest that we hear!

Jesus is MOVING ON THE EARTH and amazing things are happening all over the globe!

Praise HIS NAME for the move that is taking place in our region in Lancaster! People are being saved, delivered, set free, discipled, and sent out to unreached people groups to proclaim this amazing gift of Jesus and His salvation that He has freely given to us!

ENCOUNTER GROUP

Over New Year's, the Encounter group had a retreat at Refreshing Mountain and I was so honored to be apart of the ministry team for the weekend! There were about 50 young adults from the Amish community and it was so beautiful to see Jesus encounter hearts and bring healing and draw his kid's hearts deeper and closer to him. We have been walking with this group for a year now and it is so humbling to what Jesus has done in and through these precious souls in their families and community!

They have truly become like family to us!

Testimony: One of the girls at the retreat was struggling with her identity and relationship with Daddy God because of verbal abuse from her father. The Holy Spirit showed me some of the things she was feeling and I got to pray with her and God did a lot of heart healing. We asked God what He thinks of her and she heard Him say that she was beautiful and He loved her!

Glory be to God for the power of the Gospel to heal her heart and take the pain away and speak His truth to her heart!

Hub Learning Center

It has been such a joy to teach and disciple these little ones in Kindergarten and First Grade at HLC! Along side of developing a love for learning, we have been learning character development, hearing God's voice, praying for the sick, and enjoying God's presence!

I love teaching and it has been such a fun semester!

Testimony:

One of my students had an ear infection this week and the pain started to get worse for him during the day at school. We gathered around him as a class and I led the kids in a prayer for healing for him. As we prayed, the pain went down to a level 2 and then we prayed again and the pain COMPLETELY DISAPEARED! The kids saw God healing their friend right in front of their eyes and it was amazing!

God is a healer and desires to heal! Glory be to God!

Each day we have a "leader of the day" in our class and we spent time praying over the leader and asking Jesus to show us His original design for our friend. It was so fun to have the kids practice hearing God's voice and experiencing the Holy Spirit as they spoke out words and pictures they felt God showing them to encourage their friend!

Mission Kid's Track

Each Wednesday afternoon, we take all the students to Gateway to worship and intercede for a nation! One of the moms has started a worship team with the Middle School students and it is so awesome to watch them grow in their giftings and lead us in worship each week!

Family News

Kayla turned 30 in December!

Josiah and our families surprised me and threw me a 30th birthday party and it was so special to get to celebrate with friends and family! I felt so loved!

::We had a wonderful Christmas celebrating our Savior's birth with family!

::Josiah finished his evening Discipleship Bible School as he read through the Bible in 3 months! He is continuing to serve the YWAM base in the maintenance department.
